MRIP - Municipal Recycling Incentive ProgramHello to all!I am Irene Mulvihill the new MRIP Coordinator for Central Massachusetts. I come to Massachusetts with experience working with municipal and state level recycling programs. I see Central Massachusetts joining together and working as a team to succeed in reducing waste, waste toxicity and obtaining the state goal of 60% recycling. In the past few months the regional leaders have met and held the first of many regional workshops. Throughout Central Mass we have exceptional programs. These programs need to be shared with others. In this past phase: 18 communities qualified for Phase 1 of Year 5 of MRIP 13 communities have a recycling rates over 40% 14 communities have recycling access to over 75% of their communities 21 communities that have local or permanent Household Hazardous Waste Programs Please watch your mail and email for upcoming winter/spring workshops. These workshops and other regional events are your opportunity to network, learn and share your successes and struggles with others.
